Creative Cumulus has two aims:

To provide small & medium sized business with the fundamentals of sales & marketing To look at trends and best practices that will impact on business results.

And secondly to work collectively within the club to nurture a collaborative and supportive approach from which we can learn from each other to enhance personal and business growth.

What do we offer?

The Creative Cumulus club offers a clinic style approach to help businesses with any marketing queries or problems they need answers to. During each meeting a selected specialist will have 45 minutes to present a solution on a chosen topic. Following their interactive hour there will be 45 minutes to discuss the chosen topic, apply it to each other’s business and discuss past and future marketing fundamentals.

Activities – sharing with others what makes their business really stand out from their competitors and receiving feedback on their ideas; thinking about and sharing business goals with the rest of the group; looking at which of the four business growth strategies are best for their business; identifying their ideal clients, with the help of a flip chart and some coloured pens!

Practical applications – answering the “What do you do?” question in a way that really engages the person asking; renewed motivation for achieving their goals; words and phrases that they can add to their marketing messages straight away.

Preparation – think about what you’re good at and why you do what you do; come armed with questions about marketing your business.

Thousands of new service businesses are started up every year in the UK; sadly, thousands of businesses also fail every year. One of the reasons they fail is because they don’t get their marketing right. They throw money it, hoping it will work. They try a bit of this and a bit of that, because they’ve heard that’s what they need to do, or they think it might work.

Too many people waste money on marketing that’s not right for their business and that simply won’t work. Don’t be one of those businesses!

Successful businesses create a Marketing Plan that identifies what they want to achieve, who their ideal clients are and how to bring together all the different marketing activities they need to do, to make it more successful.

Chantal does marketing planning very differently to many other people in her industry. In this interactive talk she’ll show you how to plan your marketing for the coming year by identifying the best techniques and saving you money, while still bringing in the clients you need. All in nine simple steps, from the process that she has developed and written a book about. In this talk Chantal will take you through the first four steps – the strategic elements of marketing – giving you practical tips and advice on creating a Marketing Plan that will be simple for you to put into action and that can really help you to grow your business.

We are located in Chain Street, Reading.  From Broad Street, look for the Cath Kidstson shop and walk down the side street towards Minster Street (side entrance to John Lewis) and we are on the right.

Cost: £13 Members (discount will be automatically deducted at the checkout) to cover refreshments and room contribution.  Non-members £18

Refreshments: includes, Tea, Coffee and a choice of bacon, sausage or egg bap

Meetings: The club meets every second Friday of the month at Bill’s Café Reading from 9:30am to 11:45am.
