About Holly

I found my love of video aged 16 when studying media at school and have not looked back since (this was 10 years ago now!). I got into video marketing as soon as I left university and decided to set up my business where I began creating video content for small business owners. I invested £12K in coaching so I could really grow the business and better understand marketing which would not only help me to market but also allow me to help my clients with the marketing side of video creation as opposed to just creating a ‘pretty video’. I quickly realised the importance of the actual message in a video (and not just creating a professionally shot video), which I feel gave me an edge over other video production companies who didn’t offer help with the marketing side of things. I then set up an online program called The Video Marketing Academy teaching small business owners how to create engaging and effective video marketing themselves on their mobile phones by coaching them and giving them the confidence to do so. This was as a result of discovering that while I was able to help people with their confidence during a shoot, they soon retreated into their shells and became nervous to use video again once I had gone home and packed my equipment away (I was always honest with them and told them they still need to create their own content even once we’d filmed together). I wanted to offer a solution to this overwhelming fear for my clients.

The key to engaging video content isn’t professionally made video, it’s knowing your ideal clients, reaching out to them, understanding their pain points and offering a solution, all which can be done through video content shot on a mobile phone which is now what I coach people to do. Video is the most effective form of marketing and not enough business owners utilise it through fear and the feeling of vulnerability which is what I’m here to solve and help people with (my aim for the workshop) :)
